Danny Duran was honored to make his debut with the Los Angeles Master Chorale at the 2023 Gala honoring GRAMMY Award-winning and Academy Award nominated composer Germaine Franco.

Born in Costa Rica, Danny and his family moved to Los Angeles when he was young to receive treatment for a rare vascular disease at L.A. Children’s Hospital. It was in L.A. that Danny discovered his passion for music and acting, and he has been pursuing that passion ever since. Danny’s parents fostered his creativity by exposing him to a wide variety of music styles, including vallenatos, classical music, hip hop, salsa, rock, pop, and gospel. Danny was captivated by the power of music and began singing at the age of two, often memorizing lines and acting them out for his family.

Danny’s talent first caught the attention of his school community at Mariposa School of Global Education when he performed We Don’t Talk About Bruno in both Spanish and English at a talent show. After his performance, he was invited to study musical theatre at Class Act Community Playhouse's innovative theatre program.
Danny’s first audition for Class Act earned him the role of the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz, and he has subsequently played Uncle Fester in The Addams Family Musical and Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors.

Danny’s passion for music and acting continued to draw attention. After he performed at Agoura Bible Fellowship’s annual Christmas Cafe event, creative arts director Chad Reisser, impressed by Danny’s poise and confidence, sent Danny’s demo to Edie Lehmann Boddicker, a renowned vocalist and vocal contractor. Edie shared this work with the creative forces behind tonight’s program, and an invitation was extended for Danny to sing.
